A trip to Chembramala, Wayanad.
A husky dawn just kicked off, sun light just protruded through
the mighty mist of Wayanad. Its another day another trip to explore the bloody
hills of Wayanad. This time it is Chembramala. History lies there in the shores
of the beautiful “Heart Shaped Lake” which awaits for us in the top of
Chembramala. 2100 feet tall Chembramala must be among one of the top most hills
in Kerala. The rain is playing hide and seek with us, with time it became more
and more intense. I can’t resist get wet in it. We just drove through those
silly tea plantations to reach the top of Chembramala.
Chembramala got of lots of stories to tell us. It looks like
a heavy history lies in those dense forest, for the tribes it is one of the
most sacred hills in Wayanad, but our great Colonizers enjoyed to play Golf in
these serenity, two ways of looking at life and nature. Philosophy of life in
this entire world just got described in these two attitudes of living at
nature.
You can get a panoramic view of Nilambur – Mepadi forests
from the top of Chembra hills. Just chill yourself in the silver rains of
Chembramala . Life is short but grab full out of it.
The best season to visit Chembramala is nothing other than our
chilling monsoon, you can drip yourself in those glorious Silver rain. If it is
season you can get the feast of flowered wild orchids too.
Forest department arranges trucking up to the "Heart Lake" in the top of Chembramala, for a group of 10 they charge 500 rupees.
